THE Spen Valley League match between Savile Youth and Girlington had to be abandoned after just five minutes due to visiting skipper Rehaan Butt breaking a leg.

A win would have put Girlington top of the Premier Division but, with Route One Rovers not playing, there are new leaders anyway as TVR United trounced Smokin' Aces 9-2.

Asif Iqbal (4), Faisal Shabir (3), Nassar Hussain and Abid Khan were on target for United, who have overtaken Rovers on goal difference and have two games in hand.

Ripon Ali (5) and Faisal Hussain (2) led the scoring as Bradford Athletic climbed to fourth on the back of a 10-0 home win over Marsh.

And Vision made is six straight victories to go fifth after a 6-1 triumph over visitors Savile United.

James McLoughlin opened the scoring for Vision with a close-range volley and Junior King made it 2-1 before half-time by tapping home after Simon Emery had beaten two players to the ball and squared it across the goal-line.

The contest opened up after the break, Chris Benn netting his ninth goal in five matches and Chris Bower scoring for the second week running, heading home from a long throw.

Top scorer Craig Kellett was then introduced from the bench and he got on the end of a long ball and beat two defenders before firing home, Michael Roebuck completing the scoring by latching on to Emery's through ball.

Ben McCardle (2), Ryan Sanson and Abdur Rahim were on target for Palestino, who swept aside George Healey 4-0 to stay top of Division One.

Idle triumphed 7-2 at Mount Pleasant in the Spen Valley Memorial Trophy thanks to an Aaron Irving hat-trick, a Callum Doherty brace and singles by Carl Dawson and Matt Addy.

Athletico won 3-0 at home to Cleckheaton Sporting with goals by Omar Habeeb, Abu Bakr Siddiq and Mohammed Ikraaz.
