BRADFORD City returned to action in style as they crushed Midlands Premier One side Reedswood 5-0 to secure a home tie against Doncaster Rovers Belles in the Women's FA Cup fourth round on March 8.

The Reedswood keeper kept her side in the game for long periods but two goals from Molly Sharpe and one each by Rachel Lee, Sarah Danby and Abi Barker earned City the win, although it was not all one way.

It took good saves from Carrie Simpson and a goalline clearance by Anne Wethe to ensure a clean sheet.

Steve Winterburn's third-placed side face a key return to Premier League action tomorrow when they cross the Pennines to Darwen to take on a Blackburn Rovers side just two points behind them with three games in hand.

City's reserves have been pushed back into second place by Newcastle due to their lack of action in recent weeks. But they take on Guiseley Vixens at Eccleshill United tomorrow and a victory, in what is one of four games in hand, will close the gap on the leaders to three points.

Kris Archer has been reinstated as reserve team coach, after the resignation of Wayne Kinsella, and a win for the City girls will be a great boost as he prepares for next week's Reserve League Cup semi-final at West Ham United.

Guiseley's first team, who are just one point behind leaders Liverpool Feds, are still pushing for promotion from League One (North) and they boosted their chances with a superb 4-3 win at Mossley Hill after recovering from a 3-1 deficit with 20 minutes to go. A Nadine Bates hat-trick and a goal from Tanya Rich did the damage. Tomorrow's game is at Morecambe.

North East Regional League Premier promotion hopefuls Brighouse Town, with games in hand, took a point from a tough game against second-placed Hull City thanks to an 84th-minute Shauna Messenger goal. Town now host leaders Barnsley in a must-win game.

Bradford City A, playing their first game in ten weeks, enjoyed a 6-0 win over bottom club Middleton Park to hold on to top spot in Division Two. Lauren Tate, Kath Connell, Laura Gadd, Hope Nicol, Chloe Broadbent and Amee Ruszkai were the City scorers.

In the West Riding League Shield, Tyersal beat Battyeford's reserves 10-1 with a superb six-goal display from Jaimeelee Lukacs.
