FIELD have stretched their West Yorkshire League advantage to 14 points at the top of the Premier Division.

The club's fine 3-2 victory at fourth-placed Beeston St Anthonys means they have now played a game more than second-placed Bardsey going into the new year.

Both teams started in lively fashion, going close to scoring, but Danny Cunningham gave Field the lead before St Anthonys went up the other end and hit a post.

Field made it 2-0 from a John Penn penalty and, although both teams again carved out openings, there was no addition to the score before half-time.

However, Beeston made it 2-2 15 minutes into the second half but fell foul of a back-pass error in the last minute, Field substitute Tom Pointer beating the St Anthonys goalkeeper to the ball before being brought down, Cunningham scoring the spot-kick for the winner and his 33rd goal of the season.

Another nine matches beat the weather but Wyke Wanderers v Thornhill in Division One, Baildon Trinity Athletic v Sherburn White Rose in Division Two and the Field Reserves v Brighouse Old Boys Reserves and Kippax Reserves v Baildon Trinity Athletic Reserves Alliance fixtures were all postponed.
