BAILDON Trinity Athletic have moved into a promotion place in Division Two of the West Yorkshire League after a 4-0 victory at Great Preston.

The hosts started the match strongly but resolute defending kept them at bay before, against the run of play, striker Ben Craven broke to score a good one-on-one goal.

Andrew Radosevic made it 2-0 from a free-kick and netted again from a Danny Milner cross before half-time.

The final goal did not come until the 85th minute, when excellent individual play from Milner and Craven led to Sean McVey's shot hitting the bar, the Great Preston keeper fumbling the ball to allow Dean Rands a six-yard tap-in.

Athletic are now second on goal difference behind Hartshead, who were in cup action, losing 4-2 at Honley in the West Riding County FA Challenge Trophy.

Field are ten points clear in the Premier Division following their 3-1 win at Shelley, goals coming from Danny Cunningham (2) and Chris Wood.

In a hard-fought Division One match, Wyke Wanderers grabbed three points following a last-gasp 2-1 success at Headingley FC.

Wyke went in front through Ian Horrocks but Headingley levelled, only for Josh Brough to grab a winner in the last minute.

In Alliance Division Two, Field Reserves suffered a 5-0 home defeat against third-placed Beeston St Anthony's Reserves.

Wyke Wanderers Reserves played their first game in a month and won 3-0 against Garforth Rangers Reserves.

Paul Chapman put Wyke ahead after only two minutes with his first goal of the season – and they went further ahead through Hoi-Pin Truong.

Cameron Day then put the match beyond Garforth and, along with Day and Max Powell, stood out with fine performances.

The scheduled match between Baildon Trinity Athletic Reserves and Hall Green United Reserves was postponed.
