PRESSURE is mounting on Premier Division leaders Girlington in the Spen Valley League.

The pace-setters suffered their fourth defeat of the season in a 5-2 setback at fourth-placed Bradford Athletic and are now in danger of being overtaken by the three clubs immediately below them.

Zakariah Khan and Shoaib Javed netted for Girlington, with Sultan Khan (4) and Idrees Hussain scoring for triumphant Athletic.

Second-placed TVR United did basement club Whitburn Athletic's goal difference no good at all by putting 13 past the hosts.

Junaid Taj led the way with a hat-trick, while Asif Iqbal, Faisal Shabir, Haseeb Rehman and Abid Khan bagged braces and Ashiq Iqbal and Mohammed Ismaeel completed the rout.

Third-placed Route One Rovers' home game against Vision was postponed, while Marsh and Savile United played out a rare 0-0 draw at Thornhill Lees.

Savile Youth were pleased with their 2-0 victory at Smokin' Aces, Mohammed Amin and Umair Patel being on target as they climbed a position to sixth.

Meanwhile, it was not a god day to be a front-runner as Division One high-fliers Idle could only draw 3-3 at third-bottom George Healey, increasing the chances of Palestino, Hightown Jets, Mount Pleasant and Athletico catching them.

Luke Newsome, Jack Hinchliffe and Ollie Mitchell were on target for George Healey.

Palestino went on a goal spree at cellar dwellers Cleckheaton Sporting, scoring 11 without reply.

Abdul Rahim (3), Wayne Sparkes (3), James Chadwick (2), Nazraan Khan, Kenneth Harland and Theo Sabri (penalty) cashed in.

Matthew Knight (2), Adam Smith and Nathan Clarke were on target for Hightown in their 4-0 victory at Savile Town.

One of the best matches of the day saw Mount Pleasant edge a 5-4 victory at Howden Clough.

Mohammed Patel (2), Muhammad Omar (2) and Jawad Khan were Mount's marksmen, with McCauley Clarke, Troy Bagshaw, Brad Mason and Steve Brook replying.

Shock result of the day was Athletico's 7-2 reverse at eighth-placed Norfolk, with Said Said (3), Ismail Loonat (2) and Manny Sambhi scoring for the victors as Qendrim Emini and Umar Ali grabbed the consolations.

Dominic Batley (4) and Paul Beaumont (2) showed that the table does not lie, however, by helping Fox & Hounds – who are seventh – defeat 11th-placed Inter Batley 6-1, Arshad Navsarka scoring for the losers.
