FIELD did the West Yorkshire Association proud in their representative semi-final.

Also playing on behalf of the West Riding County FA, they defeated the Lancashire FA's Thornton Cleveleys 4-1 in the NORTHERN COUNTIES SENIOR CUP.

Danny Cunningham grabbed a fine hat-trick for Field at West Riding county HQ at Fleet Lane, Tom Ponter scoring the other.

Wyke Wanderers put up a brave display in the WEST YORKSHIRE LEAGUE CUP before going down 3-0 at Hunslet Club, who took the lead from a first-half penalty.

However, Wanderers pushed hard for an equaliser and Hunslet's keeper did well to palm away a fierce James Healey free-kick from just outside the box before the home side scored twice more.

Baildon Trinity Athletic's quest for promotion from DIVISION TWO suffered a blow as they lost 3-1 at Rothwell Town and slipped to fifth.

However, the visitors were up against it from the eighth minute when Oliver Spence was dismissed for reacting to a late challenge.

Nevertheless, desperate Baildon defence and some great goalkeeping kept Town out in the first half, although they conceded twice in the first 15 minutes of the second half.

Ben Craven and Louis Francis both missed chances at the other end, however, before Danny Milner headed the visitors back into it from a corner, only for Town to net a third on the break with two minutes left as Athletic pressed for an equaliser.

Baildon Trinity Athletic Reserves missed chance after chance and lost 3-2 at home to Sherburn White Rose Reserves in Alliance Division Two.

After hitting a post and the bar, Baildon took the lead when Michael Haran was brought down in the penalty area and he picked himself up to score from the spot.

On 40 minutes, Johnny Reynolds made it 2-0 after going round the Sherburn goalkeeper but White Rose pulled a goal back.

Baildon's strikers continued to spurn opportunities, and this came back to haunt them as the visitors counter-attacked to make it 2-2.

With five minutes to go, Sherburn broke away from a Baildon corner to net the winner.

The matches between Field Reserves and Brighouse Old Boys Reserves and Wyke Wanderers Reserves and Middleton Park Reserves matches were postponed.
