BAILDON Trinity Athletic are through to the final of the Wharfedale & District FA Challenge Cup after a 3-1 victory at youthful Horsforth St Margaret's A.
John O'Connell gave dominant Baildon a great start with a goal in the first five minutes, and Ben Craven made it 2-0 ten minutes before half-time.
The one-way traffic continued in the second half and St Margaret's had several players cautioned, but they made it interesting by netting from a free-kick with 20 minutes left.
However, Baildon scored a third with a 25-yard free-kick from Andrew Radosevic, and Horsforth continued to show ill discipline, arguing among themselves and having a man sent off for a second yellow card.
Meanwhile, Wyke Wanderers defeated Morley Town 4-1 to progress in the Wheatley Cup, taking an early lead via Ben Bodle, who put them 2-0 ahead with a stunning drive into the bottom corner.
Wyke's goalkeeper Ben Sharp and their defence then held Town back but their first goal seemed to wake Wyke up, and Ian Horrocks and Aiden Day finished Town off.
The West Yorkshire Alliance League Division Two match between Pool Reserves and Wyke Wanderers Reserves was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, as was the Division One game between Wetherby Athletic Reserves and Field Reserves
