West Riding County FA Womens Cup holders Bradford City have one eye on the weather as they once again prepare to defend the trophy in this season's second round tie with Guiseley AFC Vixens at Thackley AFC on Sunday.

If the Dennyfield pitch, at Ainsbury Avenue, survives this week's torrential downpours, unlike the scheduled FA Premier League game at Coventry last week, the game will kick off at 1pm. City coach Steve Winterburn has a full strength squad available.

The Brighouse Town first team, going well in the North East Regional League Premier Division, suffered their first defeat in 30 games last week, going down 3-2 to Wakefield, 16 year old Eleanor Ciesielski scoring both Town goals, but a cup tie at West Riding League side Tingley Athletic should see a return to winning ways.

Bradford Park Avenue take on Uppermill, in their second round game, hoping to bounce back after a 3-2 West Riding League defeat at the hands of Hemsworth in their last outing. Megan Medley and Sarah Huby were the scorers for an understrength Avenue.

Ossett Albion, from the North East Regional League (South), face a potential banana skin when they entertain Brighouse Town's Development side in their last 16 County Cup tie at Dimple Wells.

Albion are currently on the slide and with both their manager and a player sent off in the 4-2 defeat at home to Malet Lambert it wasn't their day and a predrawn quarter final clash at home to Keighley Oaks or Leeds is looking a long way away on current form.

Dewsbury Rangers, from the Second Division of the West Riding League, are facing what is possibly the toughest game in their history as they prepare for a game against North East Regional Southern Division promotion chasers Farsley in their County Cup tie at Throstle Nest.

Farsley, promoted last season, were 1-0 winners at Courts City in their last game to make it eight wins from eight and sit one point behind the leaders with two games in hand. In contrast Rangers were beaten 5-0 at Thornes and are now joint bottom of their Division.

Huddersfield Town, like City, saw their FA Premier League game hit by the weather but Town's reserve team were in action, taking a welcome point from a 3-3 draw with title chasing Newcastle, and this week travel to pointless Mansfield, looking for a second win of the season. City reserves, who saw their game with Guiseley washed out, bid to maintain their four point lead in the Reserve Division when they take on Leeds at Harrogate Railway AFC.

The wet weather badly affected last week's league programmes but Ossett Town are back in action at Brighouse Athletic in the West Riding Premier Division, Battyeford Belles, 3-2 winners at Brayton Belles reserves, can go joint top of Division Two with Bradford City if they can win at Middleton Park, while Norristhorpe take on Thornes hoping to move off the bottom.

Bradford City Development team, the only City team in action last week, were 9-1 winners at Middleton Park amongst the City scorers were Amee Ruszkai, with a hat-trick, and two each from Laura Gadd and Annie Nicol.
