GOALKEEPERS took the honours as Wyke Wanderers drew 1-1 with Old Modernians in Division One of the West Yorkshire League.

Wyke should have been three goals in front, only for the Mods shot-stopper to deny them, before a three-man move led to Ben Bodle edging Wyke ahead.

But Modernians equalised five minutes into the second half and only fine saves by Ben Sharpe in the last 15 minutes ensured Wyke got a point.

Baildon Trinity Athletic beat promotion rivals Barwick 4-0 in Division Two, with a keeper again playing a key role.

Danny Milner opened the scoring inside the first 15 minutes with a volley from 12 yards as Baildon dominated but they could not add to their tally in the opening half.

Barwick were awarded a penalty early in the second period but former Bradford Park Avenue keeper John Lamb not only saved it but made two other excellent stops.

Louis Francis pulled the ball back from the byline for Ben Craven to make it 2-0 with a tap-in – and man of the match Lamb then made another brilliant save from a free-kick before John O'Connell ran the full length of the pitch to score a superb goal.

The tally was completed when Francis netted following a goalmouth scramble as Baildon moved up to third, only one point behind the leaders.

In Alliance Division Two, Wyke Wanderers Reserves dominated against Rothwell Town Reserves and thoroughly deserved their 3-0 win.

On target for Wyke were Joe Sagar after five minutes and, in the 60th and 80th minutes, Hi-pin Truong and Sam Digby.

Baildon Trinity Athletic Reserves were poor at Barwick Reserves in losing 4-0. Visiting goalkeeper Karl McMullen was man of the match as Barwick missed a host of chances.

In the Premier Division, leaders Field won 6-1 at Boroughbridge.
