WYKE Wanderers missed a golden opportunity of climbing into the top three of West Yorkshire League Division One.

They dominated their match against Kippax, missing chance after chance, while the visitors scored from their only opportunity.

Wyke's reserves were at Kippax Reserves in Alliance Division Two and came away with a 1-1 draw, courtesy of a goal from cricketer Matt Baxter.

Field's lead at the top of the Premier Division remains at six points after a 4-0 victory at Wetherby Athletic, goals coming from Daniel Cunningham (2), Joshua Hartley and Joshua Milner, while Gloddy Dean, Ben Baker, Robert Gumbley, Liam Lambert and Steve Hamilton were on target for Field Reserves, who are up to fourth in Alliance Division One after a 5-1 win at home to East End Park Reserves.

Baildon Trinity Athletic were at Middleton Park in the League Cup and came away with a well-deserved 2-0 win.

Athletic started strongly but had to wait until the closing ten minutes of the first half for their first goal, good work down the left wing and a pin-point cross finding Louis France, who scored with a header at the back post on his return to the team after a three-match ban.

Baildon's attacking options again proved too much for Middleton, with both forwards working their defence very hard, and with 30 minutes to go Ben Craven scored with a good shot to seal the tie.

Baildon Trinity Athletic Reserves started off slowly in their Alliance Division Two match but won 1-0 against higher-placed Pool Reserves.

If it wasn't for back-up goalkeeper Karl McMullen pulling off some fine saves, however, Baildon could have been three down in the first 20 minutes.

After 25 minutes, Baildon were awarded a free-kick, which was put into the box and, after a mistake by a Pool defender, the ball dropped to Johnny Reynolds, who volleyed the ball home.

In the second half, both teams had chances to score but neither team could take them and, after some great defending, Baildon held on for the win
