THACKLEY Reserves bowed out of the Lancashire League Cup on penalties after drawing 1-1 at Ashton United Reserves.

The visitors lost 3-1 in the shoot-out after Matt Bilney had scored for them in normal time.

Two penalties helped Brighouse Town Reserves to a 4-1 victory at Eccleshill Leeds in the league.

Connah Judson edged Brighouse ahead only for Alex Brisbane to equalise, before a superb free-kick from Isaac Baldwin restored the visitors' lead. Penalties from Will Tolley and Jack Normanton then secured the points.

Eccleshill United Reserves travelled to leaders AFC Emley Reserves and suffered a 5-0 defeat, while Albion Sports Reserves lost 2-0 at Ossett Albion Reserves.

In the Northern Under-19 Alliance League, Field went top on goal difference as the result of their 5-2 win against Silsden.

Callum Robinson (2), Jack Webster, Connor Wignall and Gloddy Deans-Diolco scored for Fields, while Josh Metcalfe and an own goal made up Silsden's tally.

Liversedge beat Ossett Albion 3-1 after finding themselves a goal down after only two minutes.

They equalised before the break through Robert Thomas. Lawrence Dunne put Sedge ahead and Adam Mortimer sealed the win with a 90th-minute strike.

Brighouse Town’s development side became the first team through to the second round of the Halifax & District FA Saturday Cup after beating Northowram 4-2 on penalties under floodlights at Hove Edge.

The match was 4-4 after 90 minutes and there were no goals in extra-time, with Will Tolley’s sweetly-struck shot on 88 minutes throwing Brighouse a lifeline after they had looked set to go out.
