PLAYING away from home proved no hardship in the Spen Valley League, with five of the seven weekend victories being achieved by visitors.

Goals were not a problem either for teams on their away days as they rattled in 36 compared to the 22 scored by the hosts.

Top of the shots were Palestino in Division One as they won 11-1 at Mount Pleasant to rise to sixth, Ben Mcardle netting five.

Kenneth John, Theo Bujra, Martin Knowles, David Chadwick, Micah Bleau and an own goal made up the tally, with Mohammed Patel getting the only consolation.

Fox & Hounds are up to fifth on the back of a 7-1 triumph at Inter Batley. Gaz Richardson, Paul Beaumont and Jamie Carter hit braces to add to a Josh Milnes effort, with Suhail Barber bagging the sole reply.

Hightown Jets, who are third, were the other emphatic away winners, defeating Norfolk 6-3 thanks to a Nathan Clarke treble and single strikes from Jordan Midwood, Dale Motlib and Adam Smith. Said Said and Ismail Loonat were among those to reply.

Bucking the trend were leaders Idle, who despatched visiting George Healey 6-0.

Premier Division front-runners TVR United were also at home and beat Vision 7-3. Asif Iqbal (2), Mohamed Abdalla (2), Adbul Qasim, Nassar Hussain and Ashiq Iqbal were the top side's marksmen, with Farron Denton (2) and Michael Roebuck replying.

Route One Rovers stay second after a 5-2 victory at Girlington, for whom Adeeb Jawad and Fraz Dar were on target in reply to Usman Hussain (4) and Hassan Mahmood Ali.

The big climbers were Bradford Athletic, who rose from sixth to third on the back of a 4-2 win at Savile United. Sultan Khan bagged a hat-trick and Nikash Yousaf also scored for the winners, with Faisal Adam's brace being in vain.
