BRADFORD City go to Nottingham Forest on Sunday on the back of a superb 2-1 midweek win over Women's Premier League (North) leaders Huddersfield Town at Shelley.

City were looking for an early response to the frustration of a 1-1 weekend draw at home to Sporting Club Albion and coach Steve Winterburn was not disappointed.

Unperturbed by the delayed kick-off as a result of floodlight failure, City began confidently and American girl Anne Wethe opened the scoring just before half-time.

Before Town had a chance to get back in the game they went two goals down after a Jodie Redgrave penalty.

There was a late reply by Debbie Hastings but City held out and now hope to maintain their unbeaten away record at Forest.

In the Reserve Division, City made it three wins out of three as Vicki Rich – another of their American signings – grabbed her second successive hat-trick in a 5-0 win over Sheffield FC at Eccleshill United.

City now go to bottom club Mansfield, while in the same division Guiseley AFC Vixens are at home to joint-leaders Newcastle United.

In Premier (North) Division One, Guiseley's first team had mixed fortunes this week, beating Morecambe 5-3 at home before losing their derby at home to Leeds.

They will be hoping to find that winning touch once again with the visit of Chester-le-Street.

Ossett Albion are looking for a dramatic change of fortune as they take on in-form Sheffield Wednesday in the Women's North-East Regional League after an early exit in the FA Women's Cup.

They put up a great show at home to Wetherby Athletic in last week's tie. League results have been wildly inconsistent but it looked like a good day as they battled to force a 3-3 scoreline at full time.

Unfortunately the extra half hour took its toll on the home side as Wetherby stepped up a gear to run out 8-3 winners.

Bradford Park Avenue crashed out 12-0 to Hull City but Brighouse Town won 2-0 at neighbours Brighouse Athletic.

Avenue are back in West Riding League action this weekend at home to Ossett Town.

In Division Two, Battyeford Belles went to promoted Bradford City A hoping to improve on their 4-1 defeat in the first meeting between the two sides. But City, who won Division Three with a 100 per cent record, proved too strong and ran out 4-2 winners.

Dewsbury Rangers, beaten 6-2 the previous week by Battyeford, provided the shock of the day in this section as they won 4-1 against a Brayton Belles reserve side who had started the season with two wins from two.

But while it was another bad day for bottom club Norristhorpe, who went down to their third successive defeat in losing 6-0 at home to Middleton, Battyeford Belles' reserves made it two out of two in Division Three with a 2-1 win at home to Castleford White Rose Reserves.

Tyersal beat ten-man Crossley 4-0 in West Riding League Three in their first-ever league game. Jamie-Lee Lukacs (2) and Hayley Robinson (2) scored against their former junior opponents.

West Riding League Division Two fixtures see Belles hoping to get back to winning ways – and their opponents looking for a first point – as Norristhorpe visit Battyeford, while Dewsbury Rangers travel to Bradford City hoping to end their hosts' unbeaten start.
