Tusief Arshad scored twice as BD3 United kept in touch with Premier Division leaders Route One Rovers thanks to a 4-3 win against Abundant Life Church in a Spen Valley League thriller.

Arshad was backed up by Aman Yasin and Abdul Qayum as they outscored James Chadwick, Ben MacArdle and Ryan Mitchell to leave BD3 in second place.

They remain six points adrift of pace-setters Route One, who continued their title chase with a 3-1 victory over Fairbank thanks to goals from Sohail Fiaz, Umar Farooq and Mohammed Ellahi.

Vision and Savile Youth shared six goals in an entertaining draw, with Chris Benn, Lloyd Webster and Michael Roebuck on target for Vision.

Fifth-placed Girlington were the day’s top scores after a 16-0 romp against bottom side Dewsbury, while the fourth versus third match between Ravensthorpe Bulls and TVR United was postponed.

Marsh’s unbeaten progress at the Division One summit continued with an emphatic 10-0 win against Howden Clough. Mark Wigley’s hat-trick was backed up by Chris Blackburn (2), David Long, Richard Parkinson, Sam Buswell, Scott Newby and David Webster.

BD3 United Reserves climbed to second after a 6-4 victory over fellow high-fliers Savile United, for whom Faisal Adam’s hat-trick went to waste as they dropped to third.

Bottom side Cleckheaton Sporting picked up a rare point as they drew 3-3 with mid-table Norfolk, while second-bottom Savile Town claimed three useful points by defeating Inter Batley 3-1. One other match saw Smokin’ Aces beat George Healey 4-2.
