Two players shared the goals as Farsley Celtic Juniors reached the Marflitt Trophy quarter-finals with a 4-1 win at Collingham Juniors.

The Yorkshire Amateur League all-Senior B division knockout tussle went to form as high-flying Farsley saw off their second-bottom hosts with doubles from Sam Bradley and James Kioma.

And with Division Four side Leeds City Old Boys their next opponents, the Celts will have every chance of reaching the last four.

League action saw Grangefield OB maintain their four-point advantage at the Senior A section summit with a 2-1 win at home to fourth-placed Huddersfield Amateur.

The hosts could only manage one goal by Billy Richardson with a strong wind at their backs in the first half and Grangefield responded through a Ritchie Banks double.

Calverley United’s second successive victory helped lift them further clear of danger towards the foot of the Senior B table as they triumphed 3-1 at Rodillian.

Goals from Scott Driscoll (2) and Tom Westerman lifted Calverley to within three points of their seventh-placed opponents.

St Bede’s Res picked up a useful point to aid their fight against relegation from Division Two as they drew 3-3 at home to mid-table Amaranth Crossgates.

Ross Jones, Nathan Hurtault and Kris Balodis scored the goals that lifted St Bede’s out of the drop zone, with only a late equaliser denying them a maximum return.

Grangefield OB Reserves climbed to third place with a 10-1 romp at fourth-bottom Leeds Medics & Dentists Fourths.

The win left Grangefield seven points behind leaders Almondburians with two games in hand after goals from Chris Pearson (3), Sam Russell (2), Glen Metcalfe (2), Si Rothery, Andrew Kearsley and Tom Menaldino.
