Whetley Lane Veterans win semi-final repeat

In a repeat of last year’s semi-final, Whetley Lane beat Burnley side Langhoa 5-0 in a FA Umbro Vets over-40s group game.

Goal-scorers were Martin Johnson (2), Steve Perrin, Ray Gartland and 52-year-old Howard Cartledge.

Julian Byron, Tim Capewell, Nicky Hey and former Watford player Paul Atkinson were outstanding for Whetley.
