CAMPION’S first home game of the new season brought them their first home win as a goal in each half was enough to see them bank all three points from the visit of AFC Emley.

Jason Davies broke the deadlock on the stroke of half-time and doubled the lead with a little over five minutes remaining.

Campion are back in action this Wednesday when they travel to Emley for the reverse Toolstation Northern Counties East Division One fixture.

There was no joy for Steeton in the Hallmark Security Division as they went down 4-2 at Garstang in Division One North.

The Chevrons opened the scoring through Arron Hollindrake but their Preston-based hosts hit back with two goals in a three-minute spell midway through the first half, Ric Coar and Shaun Sailor on target.

Steeton’s Andy Lee made 2-2 but Garstang were back in front just four minutes later, Alan Coar with their third, and Ben Roberts wrapped up the scoring in stoppage time.

It was a final Saturday of friendly action for Farsley Celtic as they look forward to next Saturday’s Evo-Stik Premier Division opener at Warrington Town.

The Celts came from a goal down to win 3-1 at Clitheroe. Adam Clayton headed the equaliser for Adam Lakeland’s men, Nathan Cartman added before the break and substitute Ben Atkinson put the gloss on the victory.
