FRIDAY'S heavy snowfall, combined with freezing overnight temperature and Saturday morning rain, led to there being no semi-professional football in the Bradford area over the weekend.

On a day when even Bradford City's pitch at Valley Parade was subject to an inspection before their League One game against Oxford United got the go ahead, four of the area's ten non-League clubs were frustrated by postponements.

Brighouse Town were denied a chance to host Division One North basement outfit Goole AFC in the Evo-Stik League.

There were three local games called off in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League as many of the fixtures in the two divisions fell foul of the adverse weather.

Campion were looking forward to welcoming Brigg Town, the side propping up the Division One table. The struggling Zebras had held James Bicknell's men to a 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture the previous Saturday.

Liversedge were scheduled to host high-flying Pickering Town in the Premier Division a week after Sedge had held the fourth-placed Pikes to a 2-2 draw.

That had almost been maximum points for Jonathan Rimmington's men as Pickering needed a last-minute leveller to get a share of the spoils.

In the same division, Albion Sports were hoping for another big win against rock-bottom Clipstone, the Lions having romped to a 6-1 win at Clipstone the week before.
