BOTH of the Bradford representatives in Toolstation Northern Counties East League Division One enjoyed victories last night, with Campion winning at home while Eccleshill United triumphed on the road.

James Bicknell’s Campion put the weekend’s Buildbase FA Vase exit behind them as they beat league newcomers East Yorkshire Carnegie 3-2 at the sportsbulk.co.uk Stadium.

The home side opened the scoring early as Aiden Day netted in the eighth minute, and they had a two-goal cushion at the break after Kieron Batey added late in the first half.

Robbie Graham made it three for the Manningham Mills outfit before the hour, but the visitors, who host Eccleshill United on Saturday, made a game of it with goals from James Webb and Danny Walker.

Eccleshill were 2-1 winners at Dronfield Town as the Sheffield-based hosts ended the game with ten men.

The Eagles had the best possible start as they went 1-0 up in the first minute, with pressure leading to Andy Cooper slotting them into the lead.

Dronfield were level by the interval, however, via Sam Bebbington midway through the first half.

Sean Regan’s side reclaimed the lead just after the hour when Matt Mathers headed in a Ben Hardy cross after a corner had only been half cleared.

The home side were reduced in numbers later but Dronfield skipper Stuart Hill may appeal against the red card.

He was dismissed for raising his hands to Eccleshill’s Scott Manning, but it appeared to be another player that lashed out so it seems it was a case of mistaken identity.
