Toolstation Northern Counties East League Division One: Campion 4 Ollerton Town 1
CAMPION hauled themselves back up to fifth place in the early Toolstation Northern Counties East League Division One table last night with an emphatic win that ended Ollerton Town’s 100 per cent start to the season.
Following a goalless first half, the match burst into life soon after the interval.
Brandon Shaw headed the visitors into the lead, converting a free-kick, but Campion hit back through Anthony Brown soon after.
James Bicknell’s men edged in front following an own goal when one of the Ollerton defenders sliced a clearance over his keeper’s head.
That may have been fortunate but there was nothing lucky about Campion’s big win.
Danny Cunningham doubled the home side’s lead when he headed in from a set-piece, and Tom Robinson wrapped up the scoring when he lobbed the ball over the visitors’ keeper after a great run through the Ollerton defence.
Campion travel to Retford United for a league game for the first time this weekend after the Nottinghamshire club were relegated from the Premier Division last season, Campion’s first on the non-league ladder.
