THACKLEY travel to Hemsworth MW tonight looking for the win that would see them cut the gap on Premier Division leaders Cleethorpes Town to four points in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League.

The Dennyboys are in second place and will hope to catch Wayne Benn's side while they are off form. The former Bradford City midfielder and Park Avenue skipper is manager of the Pontefract-based club, where his assistant is fellow former Avenue stalwart Andy Hayward.

Benn's men have lost their last three fixtures and currently sit in ninth spot, so Thackley will be hoping they can extend Hemsworth's poor run of results and gain a psychological edge in the first of back-to-back games before the reverse fixture at Dennyfield on Monday, January 2.

A victory would lift Thackley to within touching distance of Cleethorpes in what is the only game in the division this week.

Every match in this first season on the non-League ladder has been a big one for CAMPION but tonight's is arguable their biggest so far – and it will certainly be their toughest test as they travel to play National League North outfit Harrogate Town.

James Bicknell's NCE League Division One side make the short trip for a West Riding County Cup third-round tie.

Campion lost at the weekend, former Leeds United midfielder Seb Carole proving to be their downfall with a second-minute penalty at Knaresborough Town, but they have won four of their last six league games.

There are 87 league places between the sides as Campion take on last season's beaten finalists. Harrogate lost 3-2 at Valley Parade last April against Bradford Park Avenue, who await the winners of tonight's tie in the quarter-finals.
