RENEWING their rivalry on Saturday are Farsley Celtic and Lancaster City, with the two promoted clubs meeting again in the Evo-Stik League, this time in the Premier Division at Giant Axe.

The Celts will be wanting to extend their run of five straight victories.

The Dolly Blues, on the other hand, may trail fourth-placed Farsley by six points but they have two games in hand, so a home win would be a significant shift.

Adam Lakeland's men are only one point behind the two clubs immediately above them but are four adrift of leaders Shaw Lane.

Last term, the Celts were beaten 3-2 at Giant Axe but won promotion via the play-offs.

Lancaster go into this weekend's clash seven places below the Celts and having taken just three points over their last three league games.

Farsley's four victories included their midweek 4-1 win over Knaresborough Town as they began their defence of the West Riding County Cup.

Lakeland said: "We wanted to get through and I'm really pleased that we have, although the performance itself wasn't great, but overall the players did enough to get the job done and we look forward to the next round.

"While we wanted to progress, we also rested Graeme McKibbin, Danny Ellis and Ben Atkinson, managed to get James Walshaw off after an hour, and Adam Clayton shortly afterwards with Saturday's trip to Lancaster in mind.

"It also allowed us to give Kyle Trennery 90 minutes in goal, and he showed his potential, with his distribution in particular, being excellent.

"I was really pleased to see Luke Parkin and Adam Porritt get their first goals for the club, and hopefully they will take great confidence from that.

"However, the cup victory is now behind us and we need to refocus on league duties, with a tough trip to Lancaster City."

Brighouse Town host Kendal Town in Division One, with both clubs in the bottom half of the table.

Brighouse are struggling more than their visitors as they are four places lower.

Vill Powell's men have lost three and drawn one of their last four games but Kendal are not in much better form, although they did end a losing streak with a 2-0 win at Skelmersdale United last time out.
