CAMPION'S defence were in fine from before their attack took over in the Flexible Football West Riding County FA Under-21 Floodlit League.

The i2i International Academy couldn't score a goal that their territory and possession merited, and they found themselves 3-0 behind after clinical counter-attacking strikes.

The Academy pulled two goals back before Campion finished them off, former Thackley player Luke Robinson (2), Jahro Parchment, Daniel Oldcorn, with a rocket of a shot, and Ross Kelly netting for the winners.

Brighouse Town lost 2-1 at home to unbeaten leaders Tadcaster Albion, who have won four out of four.

Town's Warren Hildred headed home Tobias Rawcliffe's cross to make it 1-1, and Brad Birkhead shot agonisingly wide just five minutes later.

Brighouse keeper and man of the match George Clarke saved a penalty that was harshly awarded against Louis Hepplestone for handball, but the Academy went on to win with a 75th-minute goal.

Town's assistant manager Barry Thomas said: "After our recent two very poor performances, we asked the players to give us a performance which they would be proud of - and they did against an excellent Tadcaster team."

Eccleshill United went out of the Northern Alliance Under-19 League Pat Rice League Cup 6-4 at home to Ossett Town.

Town were ahead in the first minute, but Kevin Pedro and Dylan Stranney put United 2-1 in front, only for Town to immediately make it 2-2 and lead 4-2 before half-time.

It was 5-2 before Pedro and Alex Dunne replied, but Town had the last word.

The match between Eccleshill United and Huddersfield YMCA was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
