FARSLEY Celtic dropped from second to fifth in the Evo-Stik League Premier Division in midweek as they sat idle but they could regain that place with a home win over lowly Nantwich Town tomorrow.

The Celts should have hosted Ashton Athletic on Tuesday but their scheduled visitors had a Manchester Premier Cup tie that took priority.

That fixture being shelved not only cost Farsley second spot but it also stalled their momentum after two league wins on the spin.

Adam Lakeland's men won consecutive away games as they climbed up to second but they have played one more game than the rest of the clubs currently in the play-off places.

Nantwich are only two points above the drop zone but they have games in hand on four of the five sides below them and will be fighting to stay clear of the relegation places.

Brighouse Town face the third of at least four games against Division One North rivals Bamber Bridge this season as they travel to the Preston Sir Tom Finney Stadium for an FA Trophy preliminary round tie.

Vill Powell's men have made the same journey twice already this term and lost both times by the odd goal.

Brig put Town out of the FA Cup, and won the first league meeting of the season at the same venue by the same score.

Tomorrow will be a chance for Brighouse to exact revenge for their FA Cup exit and gain a little psychological edge for the return league game at the Yorkshire Pay Stadium later in the season.
