THE tough games just keep coming for Farsley Celtic as the fourth-placed club in the Evo-Stik League Premier Division head to third-placed Coalville Town on Saturday.

The Celts bounced back from two consecutive defeats in midweek and, although they only beat a struggling Marine 2-1, it was a dominant display.

That was exactly what Farsley boss Adam Lakeland had asked for ahead of Tuesday’s trip to the west coast.

That win lifted the Celts back into the play-off places, and both they and their hosts Coalville are just four points off the summit.

They have identical records in terms of results as the clubs meet at the Owen Street Sports Ground, but although Farsley have scored more than the home side, they have also conceded more.

Lakeland will have a full squad to pick from with defender Adam Clayton back from suspension and midfielder Nathan Turner proving his fitness after a spell out on loan, but Jordan Deacey has left the club.

The former joint manager John Deacey’s son has moved to Division One North neighbours Ossett Town.

Deacey junior will be coming up against last season’s rivals Brighouse Town as an Ossett player but not on Saturday as Welsh side Colwyn Bay are travelling to the Yorkshire Payments Stadium at St Giles Road.

Brighouse are a lowly 17th, meaning that there is a big gap between them and ninth-placed Colwyn Bay, but only six points separate the sides and the visitors haven’t been in scintillating form.

Vill Powell’s men, meanwhile, were beaten 3-2 at promotion-chasing Bamber Bridge last weekend, weeks after losing 3-2 at the same venue in the Emirates FA Cup.
