CAMPION were beaten by opposition from a higher step on the non-league ladder for a second time this pre-season as they lost their second friendly fixture 4-3 at home to Ossett Albion last night.

The Evo-Stik Division One North outfit edged a seven goal warm-up game which was an improvement for James Bicknell’s men. Campion lost 6-1 to National North neighbours Bradford Park Avenue in their opening friendly.

Tomorrow sees Brighouse Town at home for a second friendly on the spin after Town also began their pre-season schedule against a neighbouring club.

The Shaymen were the first visitors to the Dual Seal Stadium in the build-up to the 2017/18 season and the National League outfit eased to a 4-2 win.

Brighouse are now under the stewardship of Vill Powell after Paul Quinn tendered his resignation after just missing out on the play-offs at the end of last season and their second friendly sees them host Toolstation Northern Counties East Premier Division outfit Worksop Town.
