FARSLEY Celtic romped to a 4-0 home win over Radcliffe Borough to stay a point clear at the top of Evo-Stik First Division North.

But Lancaster City, who have a game in hand, are still hot on their heels in second place after victory at home to Goole AFC.

The Celts took the lead against Boro midway through the first half when Lassana Nalatche-Mendes turned a Paul Walker cross past his own goalkeeper.

They took a firm grip of the match with two late first-half strikes. Walker forced a 35th minute corner that Chris Howarth converted and, from another flag-kick, Adam Clayton netted. Lewis Nightingale then wrapped up the scoring on the hour mark.

BRIGHOUSE TOWN kept alive their faint hopes of a play-off place with a 2-0 home win over Bamber Bridge.

The game was illuminated by a wonder strike from Ben Wharton who scored with a dipping half volley from the edge of the centre circle after 24 minutes.

Mike Fish doubled the lead with a shot that crashed in off the underside of the bar after a good lay off from Adam Shaw.

The victory moved Paul Quinn’s men up to eighth in the table and they are now just four points outside the play-off places with three games remaining.

LIVERSEDGE took a slender lead into the interval at Pickering Town in the Toolstation Northern Counties East Premier Division, but the second placed hosts hit back to win 3-1.

A goal from Alfie Raw midway through the first half put Sedge in front but goals from Nick Thompson, Sam Denton and George Bissett saw the Pikes remain two points behind leaders Cleethorpes Town.

A Jason Davis hat-trick kept CAMPION in eighth place in Division One as they cruised to a 3-0 home win over mid-table Brigg Town.

ECCLESHILL UNITED remain immediately below their neighbours after picking up maximum points from their last away game of the season.

The Eagles took an early lead at Glasshoughton Welfare through Marcus Edwards, but the hosts hit back with a penalty.

Adam Hayton netted from the spot after Eccleshill’s keeper Mark Bower brought an attacker down. Bower was shown only a yellow card which meant he was still on the pitch to save a second penalty kick later in the game.

Charlie Flaherty put the Eagles back in front early in the second half and Glasshoughton were reduced to ten men before Edwards claimed his second 14 minutes before the end.

SILSDEN consolidated their place in the top half of Division One of the Hallmark Security League when they completed a rapid double over second bottom Eccleshall.

The Cobbydalers went behind on the stroke of half-time – Kyle Dovey netting for the relegation threatened visitors.

But second half strikes from Mark Everingham and Josh Eastwood gave Silsden back-to-back wins against Eccleshall in the space of four days.
