BRIGHOUSE Town boss Paul Quinn admits he has never been involved in a run with so many draws.

Town have recorded eight stalemates since the start of October – and eight of their 19 Evo-Stik League fixtures this season have finished level.

Brighouse were top of Division One North on October 1, when Reuben Jerome scored on his debut in a 1-1 draw against Mossley. Following Tuesday's goalless blank at Hyde United, Quinn's men found themselves in ninth spot.

Yet they remain only five points off the summit with games in hand on half of the clubs above them and Quinn said: "I'm not disappointed at our present position at all.

"In fact, if someone had offered me this points total at this stage of the season at the start, I would have taken it – definitely. I think we're still in good shape despite losing a little bit of momentum after that great start we had.

"It could have been a little bit better but there have been a lot of positives, so no-one is disappointed. We just need to turn some of these draws into wins.

"I've never experienced anything like it, to be honest. There have just been so many draws – but that means we are a hard team to beat.

"We have lost just two of our last 15 league games and I believe we're still in a strong position.

"The last one of those defeats was away to Glossop (currently fifth) and they are a very good side. I think they will definitely be in the mix come the end of the season."
