BRIGHOUSE Town Reserves have suffered their first Lancashire League defeat of the season – a 9-2 hammering against Bradford RIASA.
Town's goal-scorers were Brad Birkhead and Jack Harrison, but there were mitigating circumstances for the loss.
Boss Charles Tolley explained: "We had most of our team missing because it was the end of the school holidays, plus injuries and illness also affected our team selection.
"Our substitutes were our back-up goalkeeper, plus myself.
"Credit where it's due though, because RIASA were very strong and played with a real cutting edge."
Liversedge Reserves drew 3-3 with Silsden Reserves, with Warren Redford (2) and Vaughan Redford on target for Sedge.
Field beat Horsforth St Margaret's 3-0 in the West Riding County FA Challenge Cup, scoring twice in the first 20 minutes through Josh Milner's far-post header and an Aidan Day tap-in after great work by Toby Harris.
Horsforth then had a player sent off, and Milner scored the resulting penalty.
Field Reserves recorded a 6-1 win against Leeds City Rovers FC OB4 in their West Riding County FA Challenge Trophy tie.
Goal-scorers for the winners were Glyn Hirst (2), Ryan Newton (2), Tom Ponter and Calum Robinson.
