BRIGHOUSE Town clung on to the leadership of Division One North despite being held to a goalless Evo-Stik League draw – but neighbours Farsley Celtic dropped from second to fifth after a home defeat.

Alex Davidson broke the deadlock late in the first half but Louis Mayer levelled on the stroke of half-time.

The Celts were back in front in the 54th minute when Richard Marshall scored from the penalty spot after Davidson had been fouled in the area.

Josh Eastwood headed home from a corner to grab Lancaster's second equaliser and Jordan Connerton edged them in front in the 88th minute before bagging his second in stoppage time.

BRIGHOUSE conceded a penalty in first-half stoppage time at Prescot Cables but the home side's Dale Wright saw his effort saved by Town's former Farsley goalkeeper Tom Taylor.

The weekend's results set up tonight's league derby perfectly as the Celts make the short trip to Town's Dual Seal Stadium.
