FARSLEY Celtic have 12 games to bank enough points to gatecrash the Evo-Stik Division One North promotion play-offs.

The Celts, who are five points outside the play-off places after their 1-1 draw at Kendal Town on Tuesday, begin their quest at Throstle Nest against lowly Droylsden on Saturday.

The Bloods are 20 points worse off and will be hoping not to be slaughtered, as they were on their last visit to the area when they lost 8-0 at Brighouse Town.

The meeting of the two was originally scheduled for January 16 but was postponed due to a frozen pitch and with the dramatic drop in temperatures this week, the clubs will be hoping history does not repeat itself.

Brighouse face a tough test as Clitheroe travel to the Dual Seal Stadium. The Lancashire outfit are eighth – four places higher than Paul Quinn’s men – but have lost more games this term and conceded more goals.

The clubs are separated by four points, and Clitheroe are below the play-off zone by the same margin in a congested top half of the table. Town have suffered back-to-back losses since their big win over Droylsden.
