Mossley 1, Brighouse Town 2

BRIGHOUSE Town replaced Mossley in the top eight of Division One North as they hit back from a goal down to earn a valuable Evo-Stik League win.

Two goals in the space of three minutes late in the second half gave Paul Quinn's men the three points.

It marked a return to winning ways for Town, who had not tasted victory since mid-October when they beat neighbours Farsley Celtic 2-1.

Three league draws and one defeat, to leaders Northwich Victoria, plus exits in the FA Trophy and West Riding County Cup followed that derby win.

It was a wet and windswept Seel Park and the difficult conditions did affect the match.

Tom Haigh picked up an early yellow card for Brighouse but that was the least of the visitors' worries.

Mossley broke the deadlock through Dave Short in the 17th minute, leaving Town with an uphill task, and the home side took their slender advantage in to the break.

Quinn made changes after an hour and the fightback began when Haigh redeemed himself by netting a spectacular strike from the halfway line that left the home crowd speechless.

Minutes later, Ryan Hall then blasted home from the edge of the area to complete Town's win.
