ONE of FARSLEY CELTIC'S favourite sons haunted them on Halloween as Adam Priestley scored for hosts Shaw Lane Aquaforce in a seven-goal thriller as the Celts were dumped out of the FA Trophy.

It was a shocking start for the visitors as they fell behind in the first minute and a nightmare for centre back Paddy Miller as he was sent off following a second yellow card in the second half.

The early strike rocked the Celts, with Lee Bennett on target for the Ducks, but skipper Rob O'Brien hit Farsley's first equaliser.

O'Brien also hit their second leveller after Gibraltar international Priestley had scored against his former team-mates.

Farsley took a slender lead into the break after a good finish by Aiden Savory, low into the corner, put them ahead in the first qualifying-round tie for the first time.

But Shaw Lane assistant manager Lee Morris came on from the bench and made a big difference for the home side.

He levelled matters with a far-post finish and, after Miller had been dismissed, hit the Ducks' dramatic late winner as it finished 4-3.

BRIGHOUSE TOWN also bowed out after a 2-0 defeat at Warrington Town, the Evo-Stik League Division One North leaders who had snatched three points at Throstle Nest the previous weekend with a fortunate 1-0 win over Farsley.

There was no luck involved here, however, as they ran out comfortable winners against Town with goals from James McCarten and Ciaran Kilheeney in the first half.

Yet it could have been so different as Ryan Hall netted for Paul Quinn's men in the sixth minute, only to see an offside flag raised, and he also hit the post soon after.

The hosts got into the game and controlled long spells but although Danny Facey and Ernest Boafo had second-half chances, the Yellows deserved their passage through to the next round.

It was not the best preparation for Quinn's men as they host National North high-fliers Harrogate Town in the West Riding County Cup tonight.

Harrogate warmed up for the second-round tie with a 1-0 home win over Worcester City, despite going down to ten men in the second half.
