NATIONAL Non-League Day has been encouraged throughout the country and it is certainly being embraced at the Dual Seal Stadium.

Brighouse Town have made a good start to their second season in Evo-Stik League Division One North but are still viewed as one of the minnows.

The hard-working committee have always provided the best budget and facilities possible for the management and players and they are determined to carry on that tradition and help the club grow off the field.

Even though they are based in one of the smaller towns in the area, Brighouse feel they can compete with established clubs such as Farsley Celtic and the Ossett clubs.

Ahead of today's home game against Lancaster City, chairman Chris Lister said: "Owing to the international break, Leeds United, Huddersfield Town and Bradford City are without fixtures.

"So their supporters – and any others that are in the area, for that matter – can show their season ticket or a home match programme from this season and gain admission with us for £5 and concessions are £3.

"If any Bradford Bulls, Halifax or Huddersfield Giants rugby fans also want to come and have a look at us now their seasons are over, the same applies to them.

"This non-League day is when professional clubs' supporters are encouraged to go along and back their local clubs. We're here, we play at a high level and we play very good football."

The drive is on to get new people through the turnstiles with the hope of entertaining them and not just tempting them to come back but for them to make Town their 'second' club.
