FARSLEY are back in the Division One North play-off places after an impressive 3-1 Evo-Stik League win at Burscough.

Adam Priestley was the hat-trick hero on his return from international duty. The striker was involved with Gibraltar in their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign last week but came straight back into Farsley's starting line-up.

He bagged his first goal in just the third minute and scored again late in the first half. The hosts halved Farsley's lead through Liam Caddick in the 65th minute but Priestley restored the two-goal cuchion with his third goal three minutes later.

Farsley boss Neil Parsley, whose side are now fifth, said: "It was a great win as Burscough is notoriously a very difficult place to go.

"Adam got all the goals and it was nice for him to get a hat-trick on his return from international duty. The early goal settled us down and from 25 to 40 minutes I thought we played really well and opened them up with ease.

"But the second goal, just before half-time, was a great time to score because they had just had three or four corners and had us on the back foot.

"They had their chances and, as the home side, you would expect that, but I thought we were full value for the win."

Brighouse Town were at home to basement outfit Padiham and also enjoyed a 3-1 win, moving them up two places to 14th.

Town broke the deadlock through Tom Matthews, only for the Lancashire outfit to draw level through Louis Mayers.

But Ryan Hall edged Brighouse back in front six minutes into the second half and Ernest Boafo put the gloss on the win in the last minute.
