BRIGHOUSE Town have the opportunity to take their points tally into double figures when they host Prescot Cables on Saturday.

Town were only promoted into Evo-Stik Division One North at the start of the season, so it will be a minor watershed for them when they break the ten-point barrier, and a win this weekend would see them on 11 points from eight games.

That would be more than respectable for a club finding its feet but Paul Quinn’s men will be taking nothing for granted.

They have lost their last two league games, and those defeats sandwiched their FA Cup exit. However, they did break that three- match losing streak in midweek.

Town enjoyed a 2-1 win at Harrogate Railway Athletic in the first round of the West Riding County Cup.

The Rail are above both 16th-placed Brighouse and Prescot, who are 20th, so it was a confidence-boosting cup victory.

Prescot have not won a league game this season but they are hard to beat.

They have drawn six of their eight games but their away form is poor, with two draws and two defeats from four.
