FARSLEY need to improve on their showing on the opening day of the season tonight as they look to get their first points on the board in Evo-Stik Division One North.

Neil Parsley’s men suffered a 3-0 defeat at last season’s promotion rivals Lancaster City at the weekend. They play their first home game of the campaign tonight and the visitors are neighbours Ossett Town.

The fixture will still be classed as a derby but Farsley’s closest rivals geographically are newly-promoted Brighouse Town, who are also in action tonight. Coincidentally, Paul Quinn’s team face the other Ossett club when they travel to take on Albion.

Brighouse took their chance to open their Evo-Stik League account by banking a three-point maximum at the first time of asking.

Saturday’s first-ever game at this level ended in victory after a 2-1 home win over Radcliffe Borough.
