Brighouse Town capped their Toolstation Northern Counties East title win in fine style with a 6-2 last-day victory at Bridlington Town that took their points haul over the 100 mark.
Paul Quinn’s men had won the championship with two games to spare and, after avenging a home defeat to Brid’ on Easter Monday, they ended the season with 101 points.
A Luke Gibson hat-trick underpinned the victory but it was Ryan Hall who opened the scoring. He netted a ninth-minute penalty before Gibson added the second.
The home side replied, also from the spot, when Joel Sutton scored a 33rd-minute penalty but Tom Matthews made it 3-1 before half-time.
Hall made it 4-1 before Gibson’s second and, although Craig Hogg was on target for the home side, Gibson completed the scoring.
