Buttershaw back in old routine as Queensbury shot down by hat-trick of hat-tricks

The Bradford Sunday Alliance League swung back into action with virtually a full programme in the top two divisions at the weekend.

Buttershaw White Star showed their intent to hold on to the Premier Division crown with an emphatic 11-2 victory over Queensbury at Manningham Mills.

Despite taking 20 minutes to score their first, White Star led by five at the interval.

After adding to their lead, the visitors made a breakthrough with goals from Scott Swan and Lee Ashford. However, the defending champions got back into their groove and added a further five goals to complete a landslide victory.

There were hat-tricks for Jordan Missin, Graeme Sides and Steve Hollingworth and further goals from Glynn Beale and new signing and debutant Curtis McMahon.

Bolton Woods had a comfortable 5-2 victory at Dudley Hill Athletic.

Both promoted clubs marked their Premier Division debuts with wins.

Thornton United won 3-2 at Mill Lane, with strikes from Emmott Parr-Gallagher, Jamie Douglas and Delroy White, while Sandy Lane enjoyed a terrific 8-1 victory at Westwood Park.

Wyke Wanderers beat Baildon Trinity Athletic 4-0 with strikes from Matt Conway, Glyn Hirst, Josh Harris and Karl Fawcett.

In Division One , promoted Buttershaw Celtic beat relegated Ventus Sports 2-1.

With the game heading for a draw at 1-1, up popped Kane Ramsden to head home the winner for the hosts.

Stanningley Albion travelled to Kieghley and came back with the three points in a 4-1 victory with goals from Tom Jarman, Liam Sanderson, Jordon Smith and Luke Hunter.

Peel Park visited Cuedos Rangers and took the spoils 3-1. Matty Hannan grabbed a brace and an own goal added to Rangers’ misery.

Terry Hargreaves scored a late consolation goal but the visitors were worthy winners.

White Eagles raced into a three-goal lead in the first half at Tyersal .

Damian Rushworth sparked a tremendous fightback from the hosts at Arkwright Street but it proved in vain.
