Buttershaw White Star 4 West Bowling 3

After extra-time, 3-3 after 90 minutes

The big two of the Bradford Sunday Alliance League clashed in a cup final for the second time in a week.

After Bowling had clinched the District Cup on penalties at Eccleshill United on Wednesday, White Star gained sweet revenge in a repeat of last year’s Bulk Sports Suppliers League Cup final.

Once again the victors came from behind to clinch the match in extra-time. John Selby had given league champions Buttershaw the lead in the first minute but Bowling replied with the three first-half goals from Darrell Leach, Joe Jagger and Jamie Wasley.

Two minutes before the interval Alex Cusack pulled it back to 3-2 and Selby went on to equalise after the break to take the game into extra-time.

Both teams had chances to hit the winner but ten minutes into the added period, Mark Betts scored to give Buttershaw the league and League Cup double.
