Only six matches involving Bradford Sunday Alliance League clubs escaped the ongoing inclement weather at the weekend – and one of those had to be moved out of the area.

Division 3B team Red Lion forfeited home advantage to Huddersfield opponents Marsh Liberal Club in the WEST RIDING COUNTY FA TROPHY.

And after a hard-fought encounter, the Bradford team bowed out by the odd goal in five.

The domestic AMATEUR CUP fourth-round tie between Division 3B high-flying duo Grass Greener United and Salthorn WMC needed extra time to find a winner.

The teams reached 90 minutes level at 2-2 but then the visiting Salthorn outfit got the upper hand and hit four four goals without reply for a 6-2 verdict.

Craig Marshall’s double for the hosts was not enough as Paul Beck (2), Terry Nicholson (2), Kevin Edwards and Phil Holdsworth did the damage.

The highest-ranked league match to be played was in DIVISION 1B between Ravenscliffe and Thornbury.

A thrilling encounter was finally edged 3-2 by home side Ravenscliffe as Dale Dunn’s double was backed up by a Gary Worby goal.

In DIVISION 2A, hard work from Shoulder of Mutton secretary Charlie Murgatroyd and his committee ensured their match against Bank foot Lions went ahead.

Shoulder were duly rewarded with a 5-0 victory over the bottom side, with Nicky Brick bagging two of the goals.

The same section saw Bradford Moor earn a 3-1 victory at mid-table rivals Oddfellows Athletic, who had skipper Andrew Keenan on target.

One DIVISION FOUR fixture finished 3-1 in favour of Old Tramshed Rovers at home to Titans.

The successful hosts had Dominic Grimes, Michael Illingworth and Kingsley Hall on the mark.
