Andrew Butterworth scored the only goal as Buttershaw Celtic edged out Manningham in the Bradford Sunday Alliance League INTERMEDIATE CUP final.
A super strike by Butterworth in the 25th minute initially appeared to be going over the crossbar but a sudden dip in flight saw the ball crash into the top corner.
Both teams had chances to add to the goal tally but strong defences dominated and it was Division 1A outfit Celtic, formerly New Inn Wyke, who clinched a first trophy under their new name.
The result was doubly disappointing for Division 2B leaders Manningham as it was their second cup final defeat of the season.
League action saw PREMIER DIVISION champions elect Buttershaw White Star gain their first victory of the season over second-placed Bolton Woods, the new Bradford & District Cup holders.
It finished 2-0 thanks to strikes by Mick Burke and Mark Flanagan, while White Star also missed a second-half penalty.
Ventus Sports dented their hopes of finishing second with a 4-2 home defeat to Tyersal, who took a three-goal lead through Richard Jackson, Kirk Ryan and Jamie McKewan.
Replies by Craig Murray and Jamie Buchan were not enough for the hosts as Paul Jackson added another goal for Tyersal in the closing minutes.
Sports will be hoping for a return to winning ways on Sunday when they attempt to stop White Star completing a league and cup double.
Oakenshaw won 4-2 at Silsden, while Clayton Orient and bottom side Campion Park Avenue shared two goals and the points.
A brace each from Lee Burgiss and Glyn Hurst kept Westwood Park second in DIVISION ONE as they beat Oakworth 5-0 to add to a midweek 1-0 victory over Baildon Trinity.
Third-placed Baildon kept up the pressure with a resounding return to form at Bradford Irish Club as a Danny Steele hat-trick set up a 6-2 outcome.
Dudley Hill Rangers, who will play a big part in the promotion outcome, enjoyed a 5-0 home victory over Otley Road.
Tyrone Breaks’ hat-trick took him to the 30-goal mark for the season, supported by strikes from Dave Licence and 49-year-old Rangers player-manager/emergency substitute Mark Norton.
Seven Stars will be promoted as champions of DIVISION 1A after edging out local rivals Victoria Rangers 3-2.
Thackley Shoulder made a great but ultimately unsuccessful attempt to overturn their inferior goal average to long-time leaders Cuedos Rangers when they hammered Kings Arms 8-2, with Adam Tomkinson contributing a hat-trick.
Kevin Saunders netted a hat-trick for rock-bottom hosts Wibsey WMC B but it was not enough to topple DIVISION 1B leaders Ventus United, who won 5-3.
Allerton, who had been waiting for title rivals Ventus to slip up, crushed Bolton Junction Inn 8-1 as Miguell Burkett’s hat-trick was backed up by braces from Paddy White and Jodie Crompton.
