SALTHORN Victoria defeated Turf 2-1 in the Amateur Cup – the last GOALS Bradford Sunday Alliance League semi-final of the season at Rawdon Meadows.

In what was an all-Division 2A clash, Salthorn took the lead on the half-hour of a tense affair when Liam Carroll caught the opposing defence unawares.

Turf equalised in the 55th minute, but ten minutes later the referee awarded Salthorn a penalty after a Turf defender handled.

Joe Brown calmly despatched the spot-kick to put Salthorn through to the final against Eccleshill Punjab on Sunday, April 23 at Manningham Mills (2.00).

There was only one Premier Division match played at the weekend, and nearest rivals Oakenshaw were hoping to repeat their victory over newly-crowned Premier Division champions West Bowling, who are bidding to add the League Cup and West Riding County Sunday Cup to their tally.

Bowling were in no mood to slip up again, however, in their last league game of the season and gained revenge for the only league defeat almost three weeks ago when Oakey won 3-2, Aidan Day, Glyn Hurst, Josh Milner and substitute Mark Betts netting in a 4-0 victory for the champions.

The champions also had a Nick Cowling header cleared off the line, while Day hit the bar.

Olympic were assured of second place in the First Division when they beat Thornton United Reserves 5-3, while Grass Greener United hit Bolton Woods Social for six, with Michael Andrews getting a hat-trick.

There was a ten-goal thriller between Prospect and Swaine Green, who shared the spoils, with Bradley Hammond bagging a treble for hosts Prospect and Kristan Patel netting four for the opposition.

In Division 1A, Great Horton and champions elect Station Hotel shared four goals. Horton took a two-goal lead into the interval via Shane Pogson’s brace, but Hotel hit back through Ryan Basi and James Sugden.

There was also some midweek action, with Steel Bangle Spartans beating Great Horton 2-0, and Station Hotel putting six past Heaton Athletic, with Paul Harrison bagging four for the winners.

In Division 1B, leaders Salts were beaten for the second time by Toller, who won 4-0 at the weekend, Adeep Jawad notching a double for the winners, with Zakarya Daya and Hassan Mohammed also getting on the scoresheet.

Meanwhile, Ryan Murgatroyd’s hat-trick for George United was decisive in their 3-1 home victory over Chapel House.
