ONCE again the weather caused a series of cancellations in the Goals-sponsored Bradford Sunday Alliance Football League.

The biggest fixture to be cancelled was the first division shoot-out between Olympic, who were second, and top-of-the-table Lyceum at Seymour Street.

There was only one match played in the Premier Division – at Thornton United, who are in a rich vein of goalscoring form and hit 11 past Bradford Phoenix. United have now netted 33 goals in their last four outings.

On the goalscoring trail on Sunday were Dan Cunningham and Marcus Edwards, both with hat-tricks, while Marcus Davey bagged a brace and Ross Parr, Jerome White and Ryan Stubbs were also on the mark.

Swaine Green moved into second position in the first division, beating Aire Athletic 3-0 with Sam Bradley netting a brace and Elliott Holmes also finding the net.

Michael Naylor hit four for George Hotel in a 9-4 defeat of Bolton Woods Social.

Grass Greener United won a five-goal thriller at Wyke Rangers with Adam Boocock putting the visitors in front on the half hour mark.

Carlton Smith added the second and Mathew Regan hit the winner with ten minutes remaining.

Woodman Wanderers missed a chance to return to the top of Division 1A when they threw away a two-goal half-time lead at home to Steel Bangle Spartans.

After Dan Softly and Dominic Staunton had given them the lead, the visitors hit back with strikes by Ryan Naylor and Michael Wooley.

Great Horton and Clayton Village fought out a goal-less draw at Carrbottom Recreation ground.

YMCC won by the only goal of the match against Lane Ends thanks to a second half tap-in from Travis Cheetham.

In Division 2B, Wibsey hit top spot after beating Provident Reserves 4-2.

Richard Pandolfski, Adam Sharkey, Ryan Wood and Lewis Phillips were on the mark for the new leaders.

Long-time leaders Parry Lane were beaten 4-0 by seventh-placed Delius at home, with Daniel Le Provost hitting a brace for the winners – one of them direct from a corner.

* THE Bradford and District semi-final scheduled for Thackley this week between Olympic and Thornton United will now be played on Tuesday, March 21 at the same venue.
