LYCEUM and Olympic, who are first and second in Division One of the Bradford Sunday Alliance League, caused upsets in the Bradford & District FA Sunday Senior Cup.

Oakenshaw, who are fourth in the Premier Division, lost 2-1 in the second round at Olympic, who will next be at home to Bradford Moor in the quarter-finals on Sunday, January 15.

Lyceum won by the same score in their last-eight tie at Allerton, who are seventh in the top flight, and are awaiting Swaine Green in the last four.

In the Bradford & District FA Sunday Cup, Queensbury beat Gaping Goose 5-1 as man of the match Lewis Forsythe bagged a hat-trick for the winners, with David Armitage and Ross Mason also on target.

The top domestic match was in the Premier Division between leaders West Bowling and fellow high-fliers Thornton United, with the front-runners edging it 5-4.

In a tense atmosphere, the firm handling of referee Manfred Wotjas was evident throughout, with United reaching the interval 2-0 in front.

Bowling then scored three goals in ten minutes and added another later on. United levelled matters at 4-4 and the match could have gone either way before Bowling top scorer Glyn Hurst netted the winner with five minutes left.

Hurst also scored earlier, with Aidan Day (2) and Nathan Woodward completing West's tally, while Marcus Davey, Danny Cunningham, Danny Wilson and Ryan Stubbs replied.

Thornbury Celtic are second, courtesy of an 11-1 romp against struggling Bolton Woods. Hassan Ali bagged five goals for the winners and Mohammed Hibaam a brace.

In Division One, Ben Cawley bagged a hat-trick for Grass Greener United against higher-placed Beldon Oddies. United's other goals in a 6-0 home romp came from Andrew Harland, Chris Sedgewick and Mathew Regan.

Station Hotel remain in pole position in Division 1A after beating rock-bottom Dog & Gun 5-1, with Paul Harrison netting a treble for the leaders as Matthew Knowles and Kent Smith made up the tally.

Daniel Doyle, Louis Softley and Josh Winter were the marksmen for Woodman Wanderers, who remain second after a 3-0 victory over Clayton Village Sports & Social.

Toller, who have come into form in the last few weeks in Division 1B and have risen to fourth, won 6-1 at Oddfellows Celtic, with the scorers being Adeeb Jawad (3), Hassan Khan (2) and substitute Hassan Mohammed.

Tyersal defeated Bankfoot Lions 6-0 in Division 2A, with Tyrone Pryce once again on the mark as he netted a brace for the Arkwright Street men.

The section leaders scored three goals in each half, with the other strikes coming from Luke Cook, James Dores, Dan Shaw and Sam Stott.

Eastward, hanging in there in second, enjoyed a 4-1 victory over Eccleshill Punjab, with John Selby hitting a double and singles coming from Haider Balal and Callum Brewster.
