THERE appears to be no stopping West Bowling as two goals apiece from Josh Milner and Nathan Woodward enabled them to maintain their 100 per cent record in the Bradford Sunday Alliance League.

Joe Wood was also on target as Premier Division leaders Bowling brushed aside mid-table Bradford Phoenix 5-1 in a warm-up for this coming weekend's County Cup clash between the sides.

Bowling opened the scoring after just ten minutes when a cross-field ball by Aidan Day found the onrushing Wood, who ran into the box and calmly slotted the ball past the home keeper.

Phoenix equalised on the half-hour mark when their left winger cut in and found the net by the post.

Good first-half football was proving a rare commodity but finally a long ball forward was flicked on by Wood to Milner, who placed his shot into the goal to restore the lead.

Bowling manager John Fagan's half-time team talk must have had the desired effect because now they were popping the ball around with greater effect.

Woodward picked the ball up in the centre of midfield and whacked a 30-yard shot in via the post.

The same player claimed his second goal on 68 minutes as Day passed forward and Woodward smashed his left-foot shot home, giving the Phoenix keeper no chance.

The final goal came with ten minutes to go as Milner exchanged passes with Glyn Hirst before volleying over the keeper.

Oakenshaw also boast a 100 cent start, albeit having played two fewer games, and climbed above opponents Thornbury Celtic into second place after beating them 6-2.

It was 4-1 at the interval courtesy of goals from James Gorman, Josh Hans, Andrew Atkinson and Adam Cronin, with Hans – via a great lob – and Cronin doubling up in the second half.

Sandy Lane climbed to fourth as they leapfrogged visiting opponents Thornton United thanks to a 2-0 win, which featured goals from Mathew Cavanagh with a penalty and Stuart Cotterell.

Lee Smith bagged a hat-trick as Buttershaw Celtic beat Bolton Woods 5-1, with Reece Brown's brace completing the damage.

Sukhjivan Aujla was another player to grab a hat-trick as Division One leaders Lyceum surged on at the summit with a 7-3 win on bottom side Thornton United Reserves' all-weather pitch.

Aujla's cousin Ryan was also on the scoresheet, with Kyle Trennery striking at the double and Kam Basi on the mark as well.

Swaine Green moved to within a point of second place with a 4-1 victory over Bolton Woods Socials, with the goals coming from Sam Bradley, Elliot Holmes, Talent Ndlovu and Kris Patel.

The top match in Division 2A saw Tyersal climb back into pole position after a well-earned 4-1 victory over fellow high-fliers

Mill Lane, who slipped to third.

Mark McNulty netted twice as Tyersal made it eight wins out of eight, with Nick Leach and Damian Rushworth adding further goals as Kyle Dyche claimed the consolation.

Fairweather Green hung on to top spot in Division 2B but only after a battle against East Bierley Village as they won by the odd goal in seven, with Sam Prest's double proving decisive.
