FOUR-goal Marcus Edwards led Thornton United to an emphatic 11-2 Bradford Sunday Alliance League victory over Bolton Woods that kept them second in the Premier Division.

Marcus Davey and Chris Lever both scored twice for Thornton, who were actually 2-0 down after 35 minutes but had levelled by the interval. They then whacked nine goals without reply in the second half.

Third-placed Bradford Phoenix were also among the goals as they thrashed bottom side Bradford Moor 6-0, with Lewis Leighton bagging a brace and substitute Joseph Cramton among the other players on target.

It was much closer at Harold Park as Buttershaw Celtic entertained Oakenshaw, who edged it 3-2 with a last-gasp winner.

Buttershaw moved in front with a Lee Smith penalty but Oakenshaw replied through a Louis Etieine strike in the first half, before Smith added his second just after the restart.

Andy Atkinson then pulled Oakenshaw level with a headed goal and the same player scored in the final minute to give his side the points with another header.
