LYCEUM became the first Bradford Sunday Alliance League club through to the GOALS Intermediate Cup final after a convincing 4-0 victory over last season's District Cup winners Queensbury.

The result avenged Lyceum's 5-1 humiliation in last season's final, yet the first half was an evenly-contested affair before Aaron Heywood's hat-trick and a further strike by Carl Trennery eased their side into next month's showpiece at Manningham Mills.

Meanwhile, YMCC overcame Great Horton 3-1 in the Amateur Cup semi-finals following early strikes by Simon Templeton and Aaron Gibson. Gareth Sherwood replied for the opposition but Luke Smith put the result beyond doubt.

League action saw West Bowling play a much-improved Sandy Lane in a Premier Division dress rehearsal for their League Cup semi-final and win 4-1.

The second-placed hosts scored within three minutes of the kick-off through Chris Wood when he chipped the opposing keeper.

Wood netted all four in the first half to leave Bowling in a good position at the interval, while Christopher Royston replied for the mid-table visitors.

In the second half, the home team pressed hard but could not add to their tally, with the Lane goalkeeper being in outstanding form.

Leaders Thornton United enjoyed a 6-1 romp at struggling George Hotel, while Buttershaw Celtic edged Bolton Woods 3-2 thanks to strikes by Nathan Ramsden, Lee Smith and Andrew Tasker.

Ventus United won their second match in successive weeks to climb off the foot of the table above George Hotel as they beat Bradford Moor 3-2 thanks to a hat-trick by Billy Sommers. The visitors replied through Hassan Khan and substitute Mohammed Suhail.

The Division One match between Allerton and Undercliffe Cricket Club proved to be an end-to-end thriller which finished all square at 2-2.

Brendan Maltby bagged a superb brace for the home team, with Undercliffe replying through a James Carr double. Undercliffe had two chances to win the game from the penalty spot but missed both of them.

Division 1B leaders Beldon Oddies beat fellow high-fliers Grass Greener United by the odd goal in three.

Station Hotel remain top of Division 2B after a 3-2 victory over Gaping Goose.

Hotel took the lead but the visitors scored twice early in the second half and held on until ten minutes from the end. But two goals in the last ten minutes – including a last-minute winner from Tyrone Depass – gave the leaders the points.
