BAD weather decimated the Bradford Sunday Alliance League programme again, with only five of 38 scheduled fixtures going ahead.

Only one match was played in the Premier Division and that was at Bradford Academy's 3G pitch, where a determined Bradford Moor team lost 5-2 at home to Oakenshaw.

The visitors took advantage of the gale-force wind at their backs to reach the interval 4-0 ahead.

They took the lead through Josh Hans before Andy Atkinson added the first of his two goals in a man-of-the-match performance with a neat turn and volley.

Joe Walsh, playing at left back for the first time this season, put an inch-perfect pass into the path of Adam Cronin, who scored with a spectacular header. Atkinson then doubled his tally just before the interval.

Oakenshaw introduced new signings Joe Vickers and Tom Ponte but Moor took advantage of the wind and halved the deficit early in the second half.

But Hans put the game to bed in the closing stages by adding his second with a 25-yard shot into the top corner as his side climbed to fourth in the table.

There were three matches played in Division 1A – including a big upset for previously unbeaten leaders Thornton United Reserves as they lost 8-1 at home to Gallopers.

Thornton had a man sent off after 50 minutes and the rampant visitors showed no mercy, with Mark Pickles, Joe Farley, Dan Wheeler, Craig Reardon and Ben Grey among their scorers.

But the outstanding performance for Gallopers came from keeper Michael Armitage, who pulled off a string of excellent saves while only being beaten once by Liam Moore.

Bradford Vale and Heaton Athletic drew 1-1 in the same section, with Lewis Witter on target for the home team.
