PREMIER Division leaders Stanningley Albion suffered only their second Bradford Sunday Alliance League defeat of the season as title rivals Peel Park edged a 2-1 win.

The long-time front-runners soon went 2-0 behind to goals by Danny Carr – his first in seven years – and John Selby, who made it six in three matches since signing for his new club.

Park defended well in a scrappy contest and Albion's last-minute reply was too little, too late, leaving the hosts now only three points behind in second place with a game in hand.

Three newcomers were on the mark for West Bowling, who climbed to fourth on the back of a 5-0 defeat of Napoleons Casino at a blustery Emsley's Rec.

James Grogan bent a free-kick around the wall to put the home side ahead, James Firth headed home a corner and Jordon Hagyard made it 3-0 after good work by Damien Melvin and Glyn Hirst. Firth beat three defenders to add his second before Hirst netted on his home debut.

Meanwhile, third-placed Thornton United were held 0-0 by inconsistent Sandy Lane.

The top-of-the-table Division One clash between overnight leaders Manningham and third-placed Oakenshaw also ended up in a draw – but this time 1-1.

In a match that was spoilt by the wind, Gilfraz Khan edged Manningham ahead but Jack Hartley equalised from the spot on the stroke of half-time.

Yet Oakenshaw should have won it as they won a second penalty, which was superbly tipped over by the in-form Khalid Hussain.

Swaine Green took advantage of the stalemate to go top on goal difference in what is a very tight division after thrashing Bolton Woods Socials 7-0.

Andy Philp netted twice on his debut, skipper Sam Bradley also getting two to complement goals by leading scorer Kyle Shah, Simon McQuiston and Elliott Holmes. But Joel Etienne was man of the match in helping to keep a clean sheet.

There was also a big clash in Division 1A, where unbeaten leaders Undercliffe Cricket Club won 3-2 at second-placed Cartwright Lister.

Meanwhile, Grass Greener United edged out Division 1B cellar dwellers Wrose Albion 4-3 thanks to goals by Andy Patterson (2), Sean McVey and Lewis Dean.

There was a 2-2 draw in Division 2A between leaders Clayton Village Sports & Social and third-placed Mill Lane 2004, who were trailing 2-0 with seven minutes left until Andy Maltby and Paul Hauge pounced.

AFC Titans won 4-1 at Great Northern Reserves in a Division 3A basement battle, with Anthony Presto (2), Liam Price and Mick Dougan on target for the winners.

Second-placed Station Hotel won 8-0 at FC Victoria thanks to Matthew Keenan (4), William Russell (2), Ben Freeman and Danny Doyle.

Hat-tricks for Steven Stansfield and Danny Patterson helped George United win 7-4 against Parry Lane, who led 3-0 at the interval, in Division 3B.
